Calderone, indicado a melhor DJ no DanceStar USA 2004 (prêmio da música dance americana que acontece no próximo dia 9), já conquistou o primeiro lugar da parada de sucessos da Billboard.
Folha - De onde você tira suas inspirações e sua música?
Victor Calderone - Tento pôr tudo que sou e tudo que sinto em minha música. Você pode ser um DJ ou produtor tecnicamente surpreendente, mas, sem pôr todas suas emoções e paixões na música, ela pode ficar vazia. Busco inspirações em outros DJs e na música tribal de todo o mundo. Comprar e escutar músicas são coisas importantes --toda semana compro e recebo muitas músicas.
Folha - Qual a diferença entre seu trabalho como DJ e produtor?
Calderone - Acredito que os dois andam juntos. Quando toco, pego inspiração que vêm da multidão e da música, e isso se traduz nas músicas que produzo.
Folha - Qual é o futuro da música eletrônica?
Calderone - A eletrônica tornou-se mais reconhecida mundialmente. Mas o que é mais especial na música eletrônica tribal é que ela mantém suas raízes subterrâneas. A música perde alguma coisa quando se torna demasiadamente comercial.
Folha - O que você pensa de ter um público gay tão fiel?
Calderone - Não sei porque tenho tantos seguidores gays, um público tão devoto. Sou muito grato. A comunidade gay é muito bem educada musicalmente.
Folha - Você trabalhou com Madonna, Sting, Cindy Lauper e outras celebridades. Você se considera um artista pop?
Calderone - Não me considero pop nem vejo a música eletrônica como pop.

Ainda na ressaca pós carnaval, finalmente o ano começou de vez e retomamos a expectativa de melhora na cena de produções e remixes Club House.
Beyoncé Knowles – Naughty girl (Victor Calderone & Mac Quayle Mix) 
Aproveitando a louvável vinda do DJ e produtor ao Brasil, não poderia deixar de
comentar essa bombástica produção.
Em primeiro lugar, não, "Naughty girl" não é o novo single de Beyoncé. Foi o "B-Side" do single de "Crazy in love". Ou seja, uma música que foi artisticamente apresentada há quase um ano, mas não foi comercialmente lançada.
Como a maioria das músicas de Beyoncé (e das Destiny’s Child), a versão acapella foi disponibilizada; e é daí que surgem os unreleased.
A versão de Victor Calderone e Mac Quayle é muito boa, exaltando o motivo da parceria ter dado tão certo ao longo dos últimos anos, assinando remixes de Madonna, Sting, Solange Knowles e Sheryl Crowl.
A fórmula de "Naughty girl" é a mesma: um ritmo bastante forte e bem trabalhado, melodia marcante porém sobposta, efeitos essenciais e uma estrutura muito bem desenvolvida.
Quanto ao vocal, originalmente não é uma das melhores interpretações de Beyoncé, mas o trabalho de vocalização no remix ficou bastante consistente e apesar de não exaltar o vocal (como é de praxe entre a dupla), o remix contagia os performáticos e empolga a pista.
Eu não sei se sou eu que estou carente de novidades antêmicas ou "Naughty girl" é realmente uma bomba que pode cair ao gosto das pistas brasileiras. Aposto na faixa sem dúvidas!!!!
Tanto porque, estamos numa fase que qualquer música que apresente as notas precisas de Beyoncé são facilmente absorvidas pelo público e pela crítica!! Ela é a garota da vez, e com apenas 22 anos possui inegável fôlego para manter e propagar essa chama de talento por muito tempo.
Deborah Cox ¤ Something happened on the way to heaven (Junior Vasquez Mix) 
Originalmente composta e interpretada por Phill Collins, "Something happened on the way to heaven" é – na minha opinião – a canção que apresenta a melhor interpretação vocal de Deborah Cox em toda sua carreira. Uma linda balada carregada de graves, falsetes, extensões, agudos, agudos e agudos.
Há aproximadamente dois anos, Nic Mercy lançou sua versão bootleg. Apesar dos poucos recursos, Nic – como sempre – fez um excelente trabalho, exaltando bastante o vocal poderoso numa levada que intermediava entre o comercial house e o trance.
Há aproximadamente seis meses, a faixa foi lançada como segundo single oficial para promover o CD Remixado de Deborah Cox, e incluía o contagiante remix trance comercial de Valentin, que infelizmente ocultava bons trechos do vocal.
E agora é disponibilizada a versão tão aguardada de Junior Vasquez, que deixou muito a desejar. Aquele estilão bem Earth, com ritmo bem trabalhado e melodia demarcada porém fraca. As melhores partes vocais foram inacreditavelmente deletadas, resultando num remix simples e apesar de curto; um pouco cansativo.
A Deborah merecia mais. E a gente também... De quaquer forma, ficamos no aguardo de, quem sabe, uma segunda versão, que podia resultar num estilo mais "Marathon" e dramático de Junior Vasquez.
Falando em Deborah, o CD Remixed foi relançado em uma limitada edição contendo um Bonus CD com remixes completos e exclusivos de seus últimos sucessos. Chequem a tracklist:
